The Prince George Castriot ( 1405-1468), known as Scanderbeg, was an Albanian nobleman, skilled general and diplomat. He is Albania’s greatest national hero and his deeds inspired Vivaldi who directed the opera “Scanderbeg” in 1716.
Palazzo Scanderbeg dates from the 15th centruy and became Scanderbeg’s residence in 1466. The Palace was completely refurbished in 1843 as we can read from the inscription above the building.
Situated in the heart of the city of Rome, Palazzo Scanderbeg has now been restored keeping its historical charm with a touch of modern style.
